Affordable Housing Update Your Parish Council is looking into the possibility of a small scheme of affordable homes for local people, either for rent or on a part-buy, part-rent basis.
So where are we at? Following the housing needs survey in January this year, which the Parish Council undertook together with the Independent Rural Housing Enabler at Surrey Community Action, we have found both support, and local need, for a possible small scheme of affordable homes.
The questionnaire, which asked people both for their views about affordable homes, as well as their possible needs, was sent to all households in Tatsfield and an impressive 20% of you returned it – many thanks for doing so! It is clear most respondents would favour a scheme, with 82% expressing support of a possible small scheme. The people identified by the Rural Housing Enabler as being in housing need are all local Tatsfield people . Most live in the parish currently, and a smaller number used to live in the parish and would like to return.
The Parish Council will now start work to identify whether there is any suitable, low-cost land in the parish. You will be kept informed of any progress made through the Parish Magazine and on this website, and of course at Parish Council meetings. All residents will have an opportunity to comment. If you have any questions at this stage, please contact a member of the Parish Council.
