This digest is in the form of notes about each meeting of the Parish Council and about each Annual and Special Parish Meeting since the Council was formed in 1894. The notes give the date of each meeting and a serial number to each for future reference.

“This Parish Meeting is of the opinion that the proposed railway is urgently needed by the inhabitants of this village for its present requirements and future development and strongly urge the promoters to do all in their power to carry out the scheme as proposed always provided that the rights of the inhabitants are duly protected”. DC reported to be antagonistic to railway scheme. Chairman Miller wanted to lobby DC on the grounds that the railway could “mean a considerable increase in the rateable value and would itself contribute a large share to the rates”. The meeting carried unanimously a resolution to this effect to be passed to the DC and the Ministry of Transport. Drafting committee of Sir H Theobald, Revd Popham, Mr Miller and Mr Hitchcock set up.
No action on new cottages.
